WERMA paves the way
Permanent beacon 200 deployed with Vögele road surface machines

In addition to the main control panel inside the machine, every road surface machine from Vögele is equipped with two extra external control stations. This enables the main functions of the large machine to be directly adjusted, for example the edging and height of the new road surface.

In the event of problems or the need for maintenance work on the road machine, this is indicated by of the permanent beacon 200 from WERMA, directly mounted on the external control stations.

Consequently, the operator is constantly kept informed of the machine’s current status – and WERMA has made an important contribution to improved safety and quality on the building site.
On air with WERMA! WERMA in action with the Swiss TV station “SF”.

Warning – Recording!
In the corridors of the Swiss TV station SF’s recording studios, WERMA signal towers indicate exactly what is taking place inside at any one time. If they are lit red, then a recording is taking place and there is no admittance to the studios. This also means there is to be complete silence in the corridors. A green signal indicates that a rehearsal is taking place. Noise and disturbances should be avoided during these times.

Blue light – safety helmets must be worn
If the blue light is flashing in the corridors, then work is being conducted overhead in the studios. This indicates that safety helmets must be worn due to the danger of injury from falling parts when working on spotlights and scenery.

We are on air!
In addition to our signal towers, yellow LED revolving signal beacons of the type 280 are also employed. If the yellow revolving signal beacon is lit in the corridors no one is allowed to enter the room. The long-life LED beacon indicates that the Swiss TV station is currently on air.
WERMA Signal Tower KombiSIGN 71 in the Supermarket of the future

Future Store (c)The Metro Group has opened the world’s first Future Store in Rheinberg near Düsseldorf. Partners from the IT sector as well as the customer relations and consumer goods sectors all fuse here to test innovative trade technology. The concept is to optimise this technology so as to meet consumer wishes and so make it viable for general use.

The use of state-of-the-art technology in the Future Store is all about making shopping into a real experience for the customer. The Future Store can claim a 30% customer increase since opening, and is gaining popularity fast. Shopping in the Future Store is quicker, more personal and more convenient.

Future Store (c)The new automatic self-scanning cash points are one of the exciting features that have become part of everyday routine in Rheinberg. The customer acts as his own cashier: he passes his item of shopping over a 360° scanner which registers the price. After completing this step, the customer puts his shopping in a bag which is automatically weighed. Should the weight of this bag differ from that of the scanned items, a red signal element in a WERMA signal tower lights up to inform the customer. The member of the sales staff at the info stand is automatically informed. A weight conforming to that of the scanned item causes a green light to come up on the KombiSIGN signal tower.

The automatic self scanning cash points are very popular with customers; More than half has already tried them out and is of the opinion that payment is both efficient and time-saving.
